Learning and educational objectives serve three primary purposes. They provide:
Insight
Insight into the expected learning for potential participants. Learning objectives or outcomes should clearly describe what participants can expect to learn and how they can apply that learning to their work.
Guidance
Guidance to Facilitators/Instructors in the preparation and delivery of educational activities. Objectives help ensure that the activity remains focused and meets the appropriate level of instruction within the time available.
Information
Information for the Sponsor to determine whether an activity is appropriate for CEUs and to identify the applicable Content Level.
