Utah Association of the Deaf is excited to host Allies in Deafhood! It is a 3 hour workshop covering these topics: deafness dimension as the current “Grand Narrative” and Deafhood as the counter-narrative about Deaf people, brief history to demonstrate relationships Deaf people have had with hearing people before and during the Oralist colonialism, brief history about the Deaf resurgence up to the current situation, other dimensions on Deaf people, of organizations working with Deaf people, and being a Deafhood Ally. Participants will be engaged in discussions and group work activities.
